To celebrate National Lager Day (December 10th), at Hangover Weekends we thought we’d pull together the very best lagers to enjoy on your stag do. There are plenty of classics on our list with some personal favourites thrown in for good measure!
Lager is a firm favourite for most blokes, so it comes as no surprise that it goes down well as an ideal stag do drink. From luxury lagers and best session lagers to non-alcoholic lagers, let’s take a look at the best choices - in our opinion!
Peroni - 5%
What’s so good about Peroni is that it’s available in its original form and there’s an alcohol-free version too. So, if you’re not one for drinking or just want to take things slow to get started then Peroni is a great shout.
Italy’s number one premium lager since it was first brewed in 1963, Peroni has a refreshing flavour with a balance of bitterness, citrus and aromatic notes.
Adnams India Pale lager - 4.6%
The perfect hybrid, Adnams India Pale lager unites two of the world’s most famous beer styles: a lager and an India pale ale. Not fussy at all and amazingly delicious, it offers a clean bitter taste with hints of gooseberry and elderflower. Yum!
Pilsner Urquell - 4.4%
One of the world’s most influential lagers, Pilsner Urquell has a signature flavour that balances the sweetness of malt and bitterness of Saaz hops. What’s more, the thick head of wet foam adds smoothness and seals in the amazing flavour.
Corona - 4.5%
Corona is a laid-back brew that’s almost always served with a refreshing lime wedge to intensify the flavour with refreshing citrus notes. Whatever the time of year, Corona is best served ice cold and gives a fruit-honey aroma with a touch of malt.
Delicious and a classic favourite!
Stella Artois - 5.2%
The strongest lager by far, Stella Artois has a mixed reputation but we think it’s a fantastic beer. Sometimes considered a brawl-inducing booze bomb due to its high strength, it’s one to be careful of but is definitely a great pick.
A classic Belgian lager golden in colour, it has a floral aroma with well-balanced fruity malty sweetness, crisp hop bitterness and a soft dry finish.
